The wet curtain (evaporative condensing wet curtain) in the outdoor unit of the DWLP industrial air conditioner mainly functions to pre-cool the circulating water of the outdoor unit by absorbing heat through water evaporation, significantly reducing the load on the compressor, enhancing the refrigeration efficiency, and saving electricity and energy.

1. Core Working Principle
The water pump evenly sprays the circulating water onto the honeycomb corrugated wet curtain to form a thin water film. The outdoor unit fan draws hot air through the wet curtain. The water film evaporates and absorbs a large amount of heat, lowering the temperature of the circulating water and then cooling the refrigerant.

2. Key Functions

1) Pre-cool the circulating water to lower the condensing temperature

High-temperature circulating water (absorbing the heat of the refrigerant) flows through the wet curtain and is evaporated and cooled to a temperature close to the ambient wet-bulb temperature (usually 5-10 ℃ lower than the dry bulb temperature). The lower the condensing temperature is, the smaller the exhaust pressure of the compressor will be, the less work it will do, and electricity can be saved by 30% ~ 50%.

2) Improve heat dissipation efficiency and enhance cooling capacity

The wet curtain's extremely large specific surface area (corrugated + honeycomb) enables water to fully contact with air, and its evaporation efficiency is much higher than that of ordinary air-cooled fins. Within the same working conditions, and the machine heat faster, machine capacity bigger, faster cooling.

3) Filter air and protect machines

When air passes through the moist wet curtain, dust and particles are adsorbed and washed away by the water film, reducing the accumulation of dust on the fins of the outdoor unit and extending the service life of the heat exchanger. Reduce the wear and maintenance frequency of components such as fans and motors.

4) Assist in cooling and improve the working conditions of the outdoor unit

During the hot summer, the wet curtain can pre-lower the intake air temperature of the outdoor unit from over 40℃ to around 25℃, preventing the outdoor unit from reducing frequency, shutting down or being protected due to high temperatures. Enable industrial air conditioners to operate more stably in high-temperature and high-load workshops.

1) Continuous water supply is necessary to keep the wet curtain moist. Water shortage can lead to evaporation failure and overheating of the outdoor unit.

2) Regular cleaning wet curtain (1-3 months), to prevent scale, the algae jams, affect the evaporation efficiency.

3) Water quality advice with demineralized water or pure water, reduce fouling, extend the life of the damp curtain.
